AMISTAD

Reviewed by SUZUKI Hiromi.

In this level 3 reader, this story is a 1997 Steven Spielberg’s work based on a slave mutiny that took place aboard a ship of the same name in 1839, and the legal battle that followed.

This book is movie in origin. I watch this movie a little in another lecture, and I had been interested, so I chose this book. It is written about the black slave trade and it is almost fact. The battle scene in opening of it is shocking and the story of experience on the slave ship after Cinque was taken out from Africa which he talked at trial it was very painful and impressive.

I think that I want to read this book or watch this movie and I would like to know it in a large number of people.
