MR.BEAN IN TOWN retold by John Escott

Reviewed by SUZUKI Hiromi.

In this level 2 reader, this story is the comedy.

Main character’s name of the story is Mr. Bean. He is very strange and egotistic and unprecedented character and he is an adult but he is unyielding as if he is a child.

This story is constructed two story; “Steak Tartare” and “The Launderette”.

First, in “Steak Tartare”, Mr. Bean goes out to a restaurant alone for to celebrating his birthday and he writs a birthday card for himself.

Second, in “The Launderette”, he goes to a Launderette for to washing his cloths but in the place, he put on a skirt and replace conditioner by black coffee for avenge himself on a young man for the insult and he is locked in a dryer.

Both stories are interesting and Mr. Bean is series so it has other stories. It is comedy drama on TV in origin therefore essentially; the story has no conversation and narration so I could read the book in fresh feeling.
