The Man in the Iron Mask

My name is Erika Mabuchi. I am a student in Mr.Sheehan's third period English Communication 2 class on Thursday.
The title of my book is The Man in the Iron Mask, the author is Alexandre Dumas; it is a level 2 reader.

In 1643, Louis XIV became the King and ruled France. He spent money on feasts, expensive clothes and any other things though people were poor and hungry. Because he was a bad king, Aramis thought to replace Louis XIV with Philippe.

In fact, Louis XIV and Philippe were twins. When Louis XIII knew that Queen Anne, their mother, had twins, he was unhappy, and worried that second son may want to be king though a king's oldest son becomes the next king in France. So second boy was taken away from the palace, and he lived secretly. But when he was fifteen, he was arrested, then he was in prison for many years.

The plan that Aramis and Porthos was going to replace Louis XIV with Philippe was done, but Louis XIV could go out prison by Fouquet. They found Philippe soon and arrested him. Louis XIV ordered that Philippe should cover his face with an iron mask and he must never remove it.

My name is Hitomi Kobayashi. I am a student in Mr. anton's third period EC2 class on Monday. This story seems fascinating. I'm a little interested in how much people's living in the dictatorial monarchic bottom was, so i'd like to read.
